6 in 10 Kubernetes jobs were from the North American region
Of all the jobs listed on Kube Careers in Q4 2023:
- Almost 64% of these were from North America.
- Europe came in second with 33% of the jobs.
- 5% of the jobs were from the Asia-Pacific region.
- Less than 1% of the jobs were remote-only.
Were the trends similar in Q4 2022?
Not really!
In Q4 2022:
- Europe was the most popular Kubernetes job location, with 41% of the total jobs.
- North America came in second with 29% of the total jobs.
- While Asia-Pacific represented 16% of the total jobs.
- Lastly, remote-only jobs comprised the remaining 14%.
What could be the reasons for such a drastic difference within a year?
While there may be numerous factors involved, here is our take on it:
If we compare the numbers from the past five quarters, here's what we find:
- Fully remote jobs were somewhat popular in the fourth quarter of 2022 but eventually plummeted to less than 1% in Q4 2023.

In North America, the average minimum salary for Q4 2023 stands at $144,030, and the maximum average salary is $202,202.
The highest recorded salary in North America was a groundbreaking $520,000!

Have North American Kubernetes salaries increased quarter-on-quarter?
In short: Yes.
When compared to Q4 2022:
- The minimum average salary increased by 9% in Q4 2023.
- Meanwhile, The average inflation in the United States from Q4 2022 to Q4 2023 is 5.05%.
- Therefore, it is a good sign that the minimum salaries have increased beyond the inflation numbers.
- The maximum average salary also increased by almost 15% in Q4 2023.

- Most of the Kubernetes job offers are coming from North America.
