VirtualBox image from OSBoxes fails to boot (error: not a correct XFS inode.)

Hello,

I’m attempting to setup the OSBoxes image for CentOS 7. When I try to boot the VM, it continuously prints this error:

error: not a correct XFS inode.

Eventually, it dumps to a grub rescue prompt. I’ve been through the video multiple times and confirmed that I’ve followed each step.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi @steve.s ,
Please share the error screenshot and Can you please tell me where are you trying?

Regards,

I’m getting the same issue when trying to start the VM. My host OS is Archlinux. Can someone please help?

The error i’m seeing in CentOs is:

error: not a correct XFS inode.
error: file '/grub2/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.

I’m able to get the VM working when using CentOS v9 VDI and setting USB as 3.0. The same settings still don’t work on CentOS v7
