Under the Security section of the course in the Article on Setting up Basic Authentication, it it noted that the “pass static csv file” method is deprecated in 1.19. Since we’re on 1.22 now, can I assume that this is not a task that will be assessed on the exam?

No, basic authentication is not a part of the exam. That lecture is only to give you a basic overview about how we did authentication in the old k8s versions.
