Hi @Igor Luiz de Sousa Santos, I’m curious, how did it feel compared to CKA? How long did it take you after CKA to take the CKS?
I know it’s a different exam but except from the new material concerning security, was the exam difficult itself or the difficulty lies on the new security-wise material?
Thanx in advance.
Alistair Mackay:
Apart from learning the security stuff, you need to be much more at ease with basic Linux than is required for the other exams.
Know how to get the best out of grep, sed ,cut , wc ,find etc. A bit of awk and jq can help too. Not being comfortable with these Linux utilities will cost you time. You also need to understand how to configure daemons, use systemctl and journalctl
If you’re not comfortable with that, please go through KodeKloud Linux Basics course first and it will help a lot.
DiKa:
@Alistair Mackay luckily I’ve been a linux sysadmin for 12years ![]()
I feel better now, thanx for the answer.
Alistair Mackay:
You’ll be totally fine then - go for it!
Alistair Mackay:
Big time savings in CKS if you know your jsonpath doing repetitive tasks like “scan the images of x number of pods in this namespace for vulnerabilities” when you can craft quick shell one-liners @DiKa !
DiKa:
I guess I ’m not ready then because I didn’t even meet this in my learning path… ![]()
I need to practice.
