So far all the learning paths for terraform have been geared towards AWS. Personally I have no interest in AWS because my 15+ years have been in Azure. Are there training corses that are Azure focused or is AWS the only option?
We certainly cover AWS better than Azure, although our Azure courses are increasing in number and variety. We don’t currently have an Azure terraform course, although I encourage you to suggest one on our “request a course” link. There’s a place to recommend terraform-on-Azure here.
The thing with terraform is that once you understand how terraform works, and if you have a basic enough knowledge of the infrastructure you want to apply it to, then you can build for anything just by looking at the provider documentation.
So learn the basics using the AWS examples, and then with your 15 years of Azure, you can easily build stuff just using the Azure provider docs.
The part that brought me to kode kloud were the hands on labs, the sandbox, the ability to practise. I dont get any of that with Terraform in Azure.
We can’t have a course for every combination of everything. AWS was probably chosen since it has the largest market share, and that’s given that most KK infra runs in GCP.
Now I know terraform quite well and also AWS, but not very much Azure. With the experience I have I dare say I could work out how to deploy some Azure infra if I needed to. You should understand very well the attributes associated with various Azure resources with your experience, so if you use what is here to get to grips with the terraform way of doing things (as opposed to ARM templating), you will soon see the similarities when it comes to applying terraform to Azure resources. If you have a subscription that gives you access to Playgrounds, you can install and run terraform in Azure cloud shell and use it to deploy any of the playground supported infrastructure. If you have your own github account, that can also be accessed from playgrounds to give you a way of saving your work.
Kode Kloud was just a waste of money. I was told one thing and the truth is something very different. Its two major cloud providers Azure and AWS. I’m not asking for GCP or oracle cloud. $360 for something that has no value to me. I’ve reached out to support to cancel my subscription and get refunded.
“Unbelievable. You sold me on hands-on Terraform labs for Azure, but all you offer is AWS. This is blatant false advertising. The service is terrible, and your customer support is by far the worst I’ve encountered across any training platform. I seriously regret wasting my time and money on a platform that can’t deliver what it promises and refuses to take accountability.”
