More of a rant than a question but definitely worth reading. Don’t TLDR it. I was giving my first attempt of CKA. I was going at every question with ease. It’s not that tough if you have practiced enough.
Around 7th question and 45 mins gone, my wifi network betrayed me badly. It went down suddenly.
Here’s the complete chronology of events -

  1. First 5 mins , I didn’t know what happened. Although it was clearly saying that your network is offline.
  2. Then suddenly the psi server killed itself.
  3. Then it automatically opened chrome and checked my internet connection and it was down.
  4. I went outside the room and switched on my phone device and tried using it as a hotspot.
  5. I was back online but while I was verifying my identity and before the room scan stuff , my wifi came back again and I switched to my wifi considering the speed of my and this broke the psi browser. (This was a major mistake)
  6. I still went ahead with my room verification although my webcam was not working. I verified everything with room , desk-space, ears & hands.
  7. There was an error displayed on my screen all this while which I thought will go away.
  8. Then after the procture confirmed that the test should start right away. I was not seeing anything and procture said that do you need technical assistance ? I plainly asked him/her - "Restarting the psi browser will help ? "
  9. Procture being the most perceptive person , again asked me do you need technical assistance ? I said - yes.
  10. I asked him , tech guy joined and said that this procedure will take time and you will need to raise a ticket to CNCF regarding this. I asked him plainly - Does restart the psi browser help ?
  11. The tech-support with all his/her expertise in this matter , told to raise a ticket here.
  12. I told him - I am gonna try restarting the browser. He didn’t respond and I went ahead and it worked perfectly fine.
  13. The test opened and it thankfully it didn’t ask me for verificcation again.
  14. The timer showed 47 mins left. Insert smiling with tears emoji here

I went through all questions and this fumble-jumble cost me my focus and trail of questions as well. I was making basic mistakes and shit like that. I won’t make it definitely.

What should I do in such network interruptions in India ?
How to avoid them ?

There is nothing you personally can do if the issue was with national infrastructure and not your laptop or wifi router. If you think it might have been your router, then you can try using a cable connection between your router and laptop.

You should read this and raise a ticket accordingly.
