Anil:
Sorry for asking stupid questions about CKAD exam: once I set Alias for kubectl commands and Vim editor setting for the environment. do they stay same across all clusters and namespaces in the exam. I believe all config set by me in the exam stay for whole duration of the exam.
additionally, I can use my saved bookmarks in the exam or do I have to import my saved bookmarks for kubernetes documentation into CKAD exam environment. Many thanks
Priya Shastri:
@Anil your settings for alias survivie through all the configs. Your bookmarks will only be http://kubernetes.io/Docs/Reference|kubernetes.io/Docs/Reference
Anil:
Thanks @Priya Shastri however my bookmarks will be kubernetes but I have saved those kubernetes bookmarks as per topics so I will be able to use my saved and sorted bookmarks in the exam
Priya Shastri:
@Anil You are only allowed to use one single tab in addition to the exam tab
Priya Shastri:
so there you go! kubernetes/Docs/Reference
Anil:
@Priya Shastri that is what I mean as per picture, As you can see, I have kubernestes favourite folder (http://kubernetes.io|kubernetes.io) under it there are many different pages according to the topic which I will open one at a time. Does it allows this way>
Priya Shastri:
@Anil No, What is allowed is one tab and use the “Search” bar to get to the correct topic!
Anil:
Really, someone told me to save these pages in a folder then I can use it as one tab one by one. so in the exam there will be a home page (https://kubernetes.io/docs/home/) then from there I have to type it manually to search for the topic as per question and then navigate the whole page to find the correct topic or yaml definition file.
Any example of this how the tab will looks like in the exam
Anil:
@Priya Shastri that is what someone mentioned below, who cleared the CKAD exam
Bookmarking parts of reference docs During the exam, you are allowed to open an extra tab whose URL is restricted to domains and subdomains of https://kubernetes.io/. For handy reference, you might consider bookmarking parts of it. For instance, I know that creating a PersistentVolume requires defining a yaml file. Then it might make sense to bookmark that part of the documentation (https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/configure-podcontainer/configure-persistent-volume-storage/#create-a-persistentvolume) for quick access. Remember that if you could save time five times like this during the 2 hour period, you could potentially answer one extra question using that.
Anil:
I am bit confused now
Anil:
@Priya Shastri please have a look at this one, they also mention to bookmarks those pages for quicker search: https://milindchawre.github.io/site/blog/tips-to-ace-in-cka-and-ckad-exam/
Rajat Umrao:
@Anil You can keep bookbarks but can open bookmarks only on single tab, its easier to keep bookmarks as compared to search, beacuse u exactly will know which part will have the syntax you are looking for. But also practice with using bookmarks while doing mock exams.
Anil:
as per my screenshort, I believe I can use this way, can you please verify this : @Rajat Umrao
Rajat Umrao:
yes u can
