Yogesh Chouk:
So I have scheduled an exam and have below query
I am using mac 13" with the external monitor and not external keyboard. Will it be okay or I require external keyboard as well?
Trung Tran:
Only one active screen allowed, so you need to disable MB screen.
Trung Tran:
You can still use the MB keyboard if it is convenient for you, external keyboard is not required.
Yogesh Chouk:
Thanks, do you have handy how to disable mac screen?
Trung Tran:
I’m windows based, sorry, in windows it is windows + p , then select second screen only.
Yogesh Chouk:
ok, somehow i cannot find an easier way to achieve this in mac:sweat:
Alistair Mackay:
I’m not sure you can disable laptop monitor without closing the lid - which means you will require external KB, webcam and mouse.
If you run in mirror mode, it is effectively one display as far as display settings are concerned and PSI should see it as such.
Drawback is the bigger monitor if higher res than the laptop display, will fall back to the laptop res.
Yogesh Chouk:
Yes, i believe the option of mirroring would help hopefully. Thanks
Yogesh Chouk:
So to the folks who are using mac, It did not allow to mirror the monitor but I am happy to share that I have successfully cleared the exam with 13’’ laptop.
Yogesh Chouk:
All thanks to @Mumshad Mannambeth for the great training material

Alistair Mackay:
Well done for getting through it @Yogesh Chouk
For reference, did the PSI software complain when you had mirror mode enabled, and then let you proceed once you disabled the external monitor?
Vidhi Nagda:
for me it was the same experience. I gave it using 13 inch macbook as it was complaining with the monitor. I tried all the modes and was so stressed about the small screen but i was able to clear it as well
Vidhi Nagda:
Is there a solution for mac users to use the monitor? It is extremely inconvenient to use a 13inch screen for these exams.
Alistair Mackay:
If PSI software does not like mirror mode (which it appears it does not), and there’s no way to disable the laptop screen leaving only the external monitor active from display settings, then I guess not.
If you close the lid, does display settings register only the external monitor?
If so then you would require to use USB mouse/keyboard/camera.
You can tell I’m not a Mac user, but on a windows laptop, you can turn off the laptop display without closing the lid.
Vidhi Nagda:
I am a new mac user but i tried with closed lid and it locks the screen for me on mac.
Yogesh Chouk:
Thats right @Alistair Mackay, it did allow me only when i disconnect the external monitor with mirror mode disabled
Yogesh Chouk:
I could not find any way to disable mac screen and use only external monitor
