Self-written notes/cheatsheet/slides allowed during CKAD?

Are self-written-notes/slides/cheatsheet allowed to be referred to during the CKAD exam? or is it totally closed book exam?

They are not; the rules prohibit them. But it’s not a “closed book” exam either: you can use the Firefox browser in the remote desktop to reference the docs and blogs sections of the Kubernetes doc site (Kubernetes Documentation | Kubernetes, etc.), and you can also reference the Helm documentation for CKAD.
You should practice doing this kind of docs lookup so you can do it quickly and efficiently for the topics you’re likely to need it for, and you should also do the killer.sh simulator to get practice doing copy and paste from the browser into the terminal window of the remote desktop.

Thanks Rob. Understood.
I read this term killer.sh but don’t know what it is. Is it something i can access only AFTER i register for the CKAD exam? Is it something that CKAD exam administrators provide or is it something else?

When you sign up for the CKAD (or CKA or CKS exam), there’s a link on your exam page that links you to the simulator page at killer.sh. This is a website that “works like” the real PSI exam environment – same sort of Linux remote desktop, many of the same restrictions. It’s harder than the real exam, but that’s good too, since it’s additional training. And you get to practice things like how the terminal works, how you cut and paste between the Linux Firefox browser into the terminal. So it’s great preparation for the exam. You get two exam sessions, each of which stays up for 36 hours, and you can run the exam (albeit with the same questions, repeated) as many times as you can fit into 36 hours.
It’s a great resource, and you should definitely take advantage of it.
