Recommendation for the Jenkins course to start with

Hi all,

I am starting up in learning about CI/CD and have never used Jenkins before. I was checking out the available courses and found that the Platform engineer path recommends “Jenkins” by Michael Levan, while the DevOps path recommends “Jenkins for Beginners” by Barahalikar Siddharth. Both are rated as Level: Beginner.

I was wondering which one you guys would recommend to go through so that the content is beginner friendly, but I also get to get the most out of the one course.

Your suggestions are much appreciated,
Thank you.

As you say, you have never used Jenkins before. I would suggest starting with the one listed in the Learning path. Once you get your Jenkins basics right, you can move to the next levels.

Yes but thats why I am confused. As I mentioned, the two different learning paths suggest two different Jenkins beginner courses. Is it like the one recommended in Platform Engineering path is more Platform Engineering oriented and the one in DevOps path is more DevOps oriented?

Between the two, I wanted to know which one I can get the most out of as a beginner course.

You can start with Jenkins. It’s a comparatively newer version of the course and has additional modules.
If you feel something is missing, you also have access to the Jenkins for Beginners course.

Okay, understood. Thank you so much for your insights, I will start with this course!
