Rate limiting by Ubuntu - can this happen on real exam?

I was just doing the lab of upgrading the cluster and I saw that KK is heavily rate limited by default Ubuntu mirror (archive.ubuntu.com and security.ubuntu.com). I switched manually to another one to unblock myself and not wait 10 minutes for each apt update.

So, do you think this can happen on the exam? I am worried as I won’t have access to Ubuntu mirrors list :slightly_frowning_face:.

Could you please share the lab where you faced this issue?
I have tried multiple labs on Ubuntu on KodeKloud, and haven’t faced this issue you are describing. It could be a transient phase.

I don’t think you should face such an issue on the exam.

It was this one: https://learn.kodekloud.com/user/courses/cka-certification-course-certified-kubernetes-administrator/module/51676566-4860-4564-ad8e-4723a266211e/lesson/24a8f203-0a44-463c-bd0f-9e1514a67468

Hi @ppb

I’ve just checked it and it’s working properly. It doesn’t look like a persistent issue. I think it may be related to the Ubuntu package manager. I also saw reports that it has been running slowly recently.

Yes, could be transient but I am still concerned that this could potentially happen on the live exam :face_in_clouds:

I haven’t heard about that before. If you face any issue during the exam, you can raise a ticket at trainingsupport.linuxfoundation.org. They will review it and may give you another attempt.
