Today I attended KCSA using PSI Exam Browser. The exam browser disconnected after about a minute or so with the error “Your connection to the video streaming server is poor”. I retried multiple times and the same thing happened. I used Windows 11 with latest chrome version and ensured clean install of psi browser. My speed test are all good with about 90Mbps during the exam session.
I already checked with my ISP and they say it is PSI side issue. PSI side they are asking me to check ISP. I do not understand why this error occurs. Does any one have any idea on how to fix this?
Having seen my share of problems with the PSI platform, I feel your pain. The throughput you get to the PSI exam platform depends not only on how fast your local ISP is, but how fast the connection is between the ISP and wherever PSI’s servers are, hence, the two sides are blaming the other and you are caught in the middle
Create a ticket with the Linux foundation and explain your situation. I’m not sure if they can resolve the exact issue, but at least you can get another attempt at the exam – they tend to be good about granting those.
Thanks @rob_kodekloud
My exam status is showing as grading in progress even though I did not take it. I’ve submitted Jira ticket to LF team to help me with the issue by allowing me to take my first attempt at the exam again. It’s been 40 hours now. Let me wait and see.
Meanwhile, I’ve heard from couple of folks around my region that if we use high speed mobile internet (preferably 5G) instead of broadband, this issue is not happening. I’ve done a psi system check using this way and it passed. Let me try this in the upcoming exam attempt and will update in this forum.
I tried the KCSA exam again today. The progress went upto test are and surroundings verification but when the proctor released me to take exam, the exam content did not load for me.
Again stuck with same issues. Not sure what to do. PSI folks always says to reload the PSI browser to debug issue and at the end just say there is no issue or network slowness even though I have 200 Mbps speed (I understand we do not know which destination server connects to from my ISP).
Why can’t they take some kind of remote desktop support and identify what’s the root cause? I’m frustrated to taking exams in PSI platform!
