Ravi Shanker:
:ckad: passed with 95% marks. Thanks everyone .With this I have cleared all 3 exams CKA, CKS & CKAD.
Jay Prakash:
HI Ravi Congratulations!!, do you have tips for CKS?
Ravi Shanker:
@Jay Prakash Practice, read documentation, practice, practice:nerd_face:. Hope that helps… There was a long gap between my CKA and CKS. Had to redo complete CKA course with labs. If you missed something on CKA then prepare for that well in CKS, I was super afraid of network policy in CKA and just skipped the question for the fear of losing time. It took me some time to overcome that fear of netpol. Look at the exam objectives and study relevant topics from documentation or whatever material bests suits for your learning objectives. Would recommend https://learn.sysdig.com/falco-101 as additional reading for Falco besides the awesome kodekloud course. And if you have the capacity to learn more you can visit https://academy.styra.com/ for details on OPA and REGO completely optional and take it if you are absolutely knowledge hungry.
Neeraj Vasudeva:
@Ravi Shanker Congratulations !
I heard that the new env. is not that great and at times it’s frustating to open documentation and there is a serious amount of lag. Is that still true ? i read it on post made by folks who gave their exam in June this year.
Ravi Shanker:
@Neeraj Vasudeva I don’t remember using the documentation too often except for where imperative commands don’t work. kubectl explain works faster than documentation where a single line configuration is required. You may have to revisit old strategies for the new examination environment. I have never used bookmarks for the old environment as well for my CKA & CKS certifications.
Ravi Shanker:
@Vidhi Nagda anything and everything I could put my hands on. For minimum resources “kodekloud + k8s docs + exam objectives” is sufficient to crack the exam. Tips to increase speed in killer.sh is also good. I did not use them earlier but this time used all the tricks to increase speed.
