Hey There, I took the LFCS exam earlier in the year. Detailed my experience here Linux Foundation Certified Systems Administrator (LFCS) Exam | by Dave Watts | Medium Hope that helps anyone having a crack at it.
That’s a great article; thanks for putting that together and sharing it. And 86/100? Congratulations!
Thanks Rob, 86/100, was quite a broad area to get across. I’m currently doing a deep dive into vim to take the skill cred exam but I want to be able to “think in vim” first be I rush into taking it.
Great post and congrats! I have a question: Do they allow us to use TLDR or curl cht.sh
during the exam if we don’t remember the parameters or commands? I’m practicing for the exam and planning to take it within 3 months, but I’m nervous about the command parameters. The man command contains a lot of information, which can be difficult to read. TLDR and cht.sh
would be great alternatives, but I don’t know if they are allowed. Thanks
Good question, I read a few posts that suggested that you could install it, but others that said you couldn’t so I just avoided it and focused on making sure I can use help and man pages and get examples where needed from that. I tend use the command help and pipe it to less and search that way or grep the help command for certain things I’m looking for. Then use man when I’ve really go no idea, but things like openssl x509 have examples in there that I would just copy and mod.
Thank you and congrats Rob.
I would like to check which tool is examinable in LFCS EXAM on Packet filtering :Is it ufw tool or firewall-cmd tool
