I’m going through the CKS course and labs are really hard to work with and takes a lot of time to get through because of the following frequent issues.
- Most of the time, the lab simply doesn’t start until at least 3-4 times of retrying
- Even when started, K8s nodes are sometimes not ready or out of disk space and pod scheduling fails
- Navigating through questions times out frequently and I’ve had to restart labs at later ends again (and at the moment I’m at a point completing a lab for the 3rd time but the lab isn’t starting, simply times out)
Is there a known issue on the lab provisioning part of the system? Appreciate if the team can look into this.

Can you please tell me for which lab was it happening? If it was happened for the Kubernetes Challenges lab then it’s resolved.

Yes, it was the Certified K8s Security Speciality course. I can’t remember which lab specifically, but it was one in System Hardening
section IIRC. I think I left a feedback comment at the end of the lab, so if the team needs to track the specific lab, they may be able to find my comments from the user ID.
I just started another lab in the same course, and it got provisioned the first time. So I’m guessing that confirms the problem is fixed?
