Kubernetes decision platform for Enterprise business

Hi,

My management is considering using Kubernetes for one of the applications, but they are searching for a solution that is appropriate for an enterprise and provides security, ongoing vulnerability fixes, and OEM support. Please advise on the best option in terms of cost and management. Also we are looking more details on option1 .Please suggest

Option 1: installing Kubernetes on a Linux virtual machine and managing containers there
Option 2: using OpenShift (which includes Kubernetes) and managing containers
Option3 : The third choice is VMware Tanzu for container management.

Hi,

1 is self managed, and you have to rely on the community for support - by far the cheapest option. Kubernetes itself is production grade, but you’ll need to hire good Kubernetes professionals to install, configure and secure it.

2 (RedHat) and 3 (VMware) you can purchase with support contracts.
