Stefan Pernpaintner:
I did the CKA exam simulator (killer shell) and I had the problem that my keyboard layout (german) was not recognized correctly by the killer shell. Instead of having the german keyboard I had to work with default english layout. I used chrome on ubuntu. When switching to firefox the problem disappeared.
I ask myself if I will have the same problem when taking the exam. I cannot switch to firefox for the exam because chrome is mandatory. Anyone else facing this issue?
Stefan Pernpaintner:
I could fix it by using chromium
Stefan Pernpaintner:
Is it allowed to use chromium during the exam?
Tharanath:
you can use either chrome or chromium

Tharanath:
it is mentioned in the LF website

Hi @Stefan Pernpaintner I am curious to see what layout is set for you in google chrome.
settings > show advanced settings > languages > language and input settings
?
Stefan Pernpaintner:
I don’t find any setting named “language and input settings” in chrome’s languag settings. Here is a screemshot:

Hi Stefan, I am experiencing the same issue with kodekloud Lab Environment and oreilly Learning sandbox as well, so I can guess I can expect to have the same issue with killer.Sh and at the Exam… I am Also using Chrome on Ubuntu and german keyboard as default… I will try to install chromium tomorrow as Firefox (where everything works fine) is not allowed at the Exam…
I lost 2 weeks of paid learning time only to have to find this myself. Chrome seems not to like non english keyboard layouts. Switched to firefox and it worked, but had to figure it out myself.
I already cancelled my subscription to KodeKloud
