Istio Certified Associate (ICA) course needs updating

Unfortunately your istio Certified Associate (ICA) course is already out of date, as the Linux Foundation have recently updated the certification requirements and istio version to v1.26

Some examples I’ve already come across : some of the commands in the course no longer work and also the labs are all for istio v1.18. Also the course mentions that Ambient Mode is out of scope, but this IS now in scope according to the updated requirements

More info on this update is here Istio Certified Associate (ICA) Program Changes - Linux Foundation - Education

Also note that the IstioOperator has been deprecated and removed since v1.23, so it feels like the “Installation and Configuration” chapter of the course also needs reviewing - see Istio / Istio has deprecated its In-Cluster Operator

Can you advise as to when this course will be updated to cater for the new exam ?

Thanks

I’m also faced same issue

We’re working as fast as we can to update the course. The LF changed the requirements w/o much notice pretty soon after the original version, so we’ve needed to move things around to get this done.

When can we expect the changes please.

I don’t have a date certain yet. Both new lectures and labs are needed for the update, and trainer and our testers need time to finish these.

Hi @rob_kodekloud

I see the course now says “Last Updated: September 21, 2025” and some new/updated lectures have appeared. Has the course now been updated for the new exam requirements ?
