How close is the killercoda plus “Exam Remote Desktop” to the actual environment?

I have been taking the mock exams in KodeKloud for CKA. I’m able to understand the questions and figure out them using the docs, but I seriously lack the speed.

So I figured I should practice more on killercoda to improve my speed with imperative commends and docs walkthrough, however I’m planning to use my macbook 13’ for the exam and want to practice using the platform as my screensize is very small.

Can someone tell if killercoda plus “Exam Remote Desktop” is the same as real exam environment? (I know the killercoda scenarios are free to take, I’m looking for a close to real environment to practice+they are not that expensive)

It’s pretty similar to the real exam. Like the real exam, it’s a remote Linux desktop; copy/paste works in a similar fashion, and if you’re using a Mac, the keyboard issues will be similar in killer.sh to what you’ll see on the exam.

If you possibly can, borrow a large external display, use a Mac compatible USB keyboard and mouse, and a video camera widget with a long leash. A 13" Mac laptop, in our experience, is too small for the exam, and will interfere with your ability to deal with both the terminal and the Firefox browser that you’ll use to browse documentation during the exam (or when using killer.sh). Otherwise, a 15" laptop is about as small as you should consider using.

I’d also recommend looking over our FAQ, which has a lot of very useful info about the exam environment that you really should know before taking a PSI based exam like CKA.
