Hi Guys, one question: if i use nodeName field to place a pod on a specific node, does it bypass the taints on node? becasue as you see following is the controlplane node for the section udemy course CKA “51- practise test manual scheduling”
even though control plane has taint i can place the pod on it successfully with nodeName field set to nodeName: controlplane
Ayush Jain:
Yes. What a Kube-scheduler does is to place the pod on a node after checking taints, disk pressure and other constraints. But, if one is supplying nodeName, then one is overriding the kube-scheduler. Or as you said, it is manual scheduling. At that time, the taint, tolerations and other things are not checked.
