I didn’t find any downgrade docs in https://kubernetes.io/

you just downgraded the tools kubeadm,kubelet and kubectl not the actual cluster components

For the sake of anyone landing here, please do not attempt to ‘downgrade’ an environment. Correct K8s process is to fail forwards, so if you need to ‘take a step back’ you should restore to a snapshot taken prior to the upgrade.
