Hi all, I’ve started my journey with CKAD exam on Saturday 25th of June from scr . . .

Mahmoud Elgohary:
Hi all,
I’ve started my journey with CKAD exam on Saturday 25th of June from scratch, i had a very basic understanding of docker and kubernetes.
Here are the steps i have taken to pass the certificate with a very good score.
• Docker For Absolute Beginners Course
• Kubernetes For The Absolute Beginners Course
• Kubernetes Certified Application Developer
• Follow all the labs and try to solve all the requirements on your own without focusing on the time
• By time you will get great hands on until you reach the last of the course
• Answer all the lightning labs & mock exams (Focus on the time & try to enhance it)
• Answer The Exam simulator on Linux Foundation portal when registering for the exam (Focus on the time & try to enhance it)
• Finally Go through the exam and it is much much easier than all of the above with detailed requirements
• Once you have a great hands on you will feel that the exam is so easy for you and all the september updates section is part of this exam

Venkat:
Are you saying it just took 4 days for you to prepare for the exam?

Mahmoud Elgohary:
Yes but 4 full days ( Studying more than 12 hours per day) because i totally forgot about the deadline and i just checked the email on 24th of june and the due date was 28th june

Mahmoud Elgohary:
and i took the exam on 28th of june

Mahmoud Elgohary:
I am not trying to act as a geek or smart one, i am just sharing my experience which was short and totally helpful for someone with no prior knowledge

Venkat:
Really encouraging to hear this testament.:+1:

Wang Khong Hai:
My question is did you need to copy and paste from browser or you can answer every question without any reference?

Mahmoud Elgohary:
@Wang Khong Hai For me actually i could answer all the questions without referring to the documentation. However, you take your exam on a remote desktop with minimal applications which i only used the terminal from them also you can open a browser with kubernetes documentation in one tab

Challenges i faced:
• Copy & paste are through mouse right click which makes you slower.
• If you made any issue with an existing object you can’t reset the question you have to cope with your mistake and fix it, usually i was always taking a yaml copy from the existing object.
• you cant search in an opened browser using ctrl+f and search for a keyword, i had to scroll over the page however this page were slow so take this into consideration
• Some urls are given to test connectivity to pod or to service or ingress, some of them were misconfigured by the cluster dns so whatever fix you do for the ingress or service they are not working so test your work with multiple ways
Good points:
• Questions were easy and divided well
• Requirements are so clear
• Please take care each question that you’re in the rght context and the right namespace
• At the beginning of each question they define the needed context and namespace so make sure you do this the first thing.
• Each question have quick links to the related topics on documentation.

Hey everyone,

I have found this Youtube playlist that provides a walk-through on all the CKAD killer shell questions and I believe this should be a useful resource for those planning to take up the CKAD Exam.

thanks
