Hey I had restored etcd without --data-dir and with the below command

ETCDCTL_API=3 etcdctl --endpoints 10.2.0.9:2379 snapshot restore snapshotdb

The etcd restore was successful and it’s running , so what does the diff with the --data-dir and without

Gurudutt Dongre:
–data-dir is a way to specify a new location to be used during restore. Later you can modify the hostPath of the etcd manifest file and point it to the new location where you have restored the data.
