Help! Screen size for CKS || Qhd 3440 X 1440

I have a CKS exam and have a 34 inches monitor (3440 X 1440). Does the exam support this resolution? or will I see black bars on both side. Those black bars are kind of distracting.

The actual work area (a XFCE Linux desktop) will not scale larger than 1920x1080, but you have extra space for the top bar and question panel at the side.

Thanks , so there won’t be any black bars on the sides, right?

is there any way for me to preview or simulate how the actual exam environment will look on a 34-inch ultrawide (3440 × 1440)? I want to make sure I don’t face any surprises on exam day. I originally assumed the whole exam UI would scale to my monitor’s full resolution.
what would you consider the ideal or recommended screen size/resolution for the CKS exam? I purchased this ultrawide mainly for comfortable multitasking with kube and other documentation we need in exam , but if the documentation will also opens inside the restricted 1080p exam desktop, I’m wondering whether this wider monitor provides any benefit.

I use a standard 4k (3840x2160).
You basically maximize the PSI application to fill your screen
The exam looks like this.

  • Regular 1920x1080 laptops have to fit all of this
  • With a large enough monitor then the Linux desktop panel can scale to its maximum size of 1920x1080 and you have room to fit everything else.

killer.sh is most like the real exam environment, but may let you scale bigger.
