Hello, I’ve passed the CKAD exam :man_dancing::skin-tone-5:.
I’ve to admit this was really tough. I didn’t expect it.
I would say it was harder as the killer.sh.
Few notes even more for the exam:
• I would strongly recommend to have a big monitor. It will be really really helpful.
• The verifying process was a lot easier, in my cka exam, I had difficulties, so it’s a big plus point of new environment.
• Even if I had a high speed wired connection, I still have some lags but more on Firefox browser, other thing on the environment was good. I love that I could work on multiple tab on terminal.
• The navbar of PSI (the new environment) is cover too much space in the upper space IMHO but you can’t shrink it, so use zoom out button to reduce zoom for your exam environment.
• I would strongly recommend to learn to kubectl explain command, because I find very hard for something to find on the documentation as you can understand the pressure of time loosing is real :joy: (at least for me it was), for some exercise it was really helpful, because I had the habit to have bookmarked my docs link, so it was easier to find anything I need but as per new environment of exam, it’s not possible anymore so if you don’t know where to search, you might get lost.
• For some exercise you will have already the manifest file, I would recommend to make a copy instead of modifying if required from that file. It would help in case you mess up with the files.
Kodekloud lab and theory is more than sufficient to pass the exam. But I would strongly recommend to take the simulation on killer.sh. My method was:
• First attempt, I just try to solve what I can without counting the time. Then compare the solution with what is done right and wrong. The in 36 hours of session give some try to improve the score.
• After a week do the second attempt counting the time to realize progress and capabilities about ckad, if the score is 100+, in my opinion, you are ready to go for the Real exam.
My exam was really hard, I really didn’t expect it :joy:
I scored more in cka than ckad.
Thanks Kodekloud team and everyone else who help to clear my doubts and questions.
Have a great weekend!
