Fabien Violas:
Hello, How many times do you recommand for preparing the certification ? I started this weekend and I did 1/3 of the video + labs - I think in 3 weeks, I would be ready
Ravi Shanker:
Some people grasp in one reading. Some require many readings to understand the finer points. Each one to his own and there is no fixed thumb rule. The only rule to win the certificate is to know the subject well and implement the tasks within the stipulated time. Practice for speed and accuracy reading and understanding the questions well.
Ravi Shanker:
And we have 2 attempts so nothing to loose on first with best efforts put in.
Daz Mac:
100% agree with @Ravi Shanker every one is different and your experience using K8s will be different.
The key is to practice and know how to find the answer if you don’t know it - http://kubernetes.io|kubernetes.io or kubectl explain or kubectl command -h.
You need to be able to do it at speed.
Fabien Violas:
Thank for your feedback - I practice regularly on my day to day activities in Azure Kubernetes. how many time did you take for CKA preparation ? when I prepared GCP arch or Azure Arch, i didn’t take more than 6 weeks because the number of subject was high.
Daz Mac:
@Fabien Violas i spent 8-12 weeks on and off. K8s isn’t my main role, although i am a seasoned Linux/Unix admin. I kept practicing until i could create most things imperatively or access yamls quickly.
The exam is not hard, it is the time pressure thats causes the issues. If you focus on building up speed, picking out key words in the question to identify requirements and practice exam techniques - leave low % questions, timebox questions etc… Then i am sure someone using it daily will be able to do it in 3 to 4 weeks
Fabien Violas:
thank for your feedback - I will finish the video and labs - and mock exams will give me good idea if I will be ready.
Javed Shaikh:
I started with the course 2 days back, I am a experienced linux admin so love working on the terminal. I am planning to appear for the exam by end of this month.
