Pritesh Narkar:
Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to announce that I passed the CKA certification on my first attempt. I would like to extend a special thank you to Mumshad and the team behind the wonderful course that was created.
Based on my experience, here are some tips I would like to share:
-
The CKA course by Mumshad and KodeKloud labs on Udemy, along with familiarizing yourself with the Kubernetes documentation, is sufficient material to take the exam. Any additional resources are just a bonus.
-
I recommend practicing the labs at least two times. The first time should be for learning, and the second time should be for attempting to solve without help.
-
The “killer.sh” 2-session practice exam, which is included for free with the certification exam, is extremely important. I spent four days prior to my exam solely on “killer.sh” to make mistakes and become comfortable with the exam interface, which can be overwhelming for some people. The questions are challenging, but they will help to enhance your knowledge and provide opportunities to learn.
-
The difficulty level of the exam is comparable to the difficulty level of the Kodekloud labs.
-
My wifi went down 15 minutes before my exam (what a coincidence, I rarely experienced any issues in the past year), and I had to purchase a 50 GB data pack to download the psi browser (around 400 MB) to take the exam. Thankfully, the issue was resolved after 20 minutes and my wifi was back up. I learned from this experience and advise others to be prepared in case of any technical difficulties.
-
Having an external webcam is not necessary, but it will make the check-in process much more comfortable, so I recommend it.
-
I spent the first five minutes of my exam adjusting the zoom on all applications to make sure I was comfortable. There may be some lag initially, but you will get used to it.
-
During one of the questions, I was unable to solve it until I realized I had forgotten to switch contexts. Always be aware of where you are solving.
-
During the last 30 minutes of my exam, there were two disconnects for around 10 seconds each, and after that the lag was significant. It was tough to edit YAML files, so I wasn’t able to correct two YAML files.
-
I suggest solving the easier questions first and revisiting the others later. Make sure you have a good pace so you have time to validate your answers once again before the end of the exam.
I am happy to assist anyone with any further questions.
