Happy to say that I did earn CKAD certificate today 🙂 Than . . .

Priyadharshini:
Happy to say that I did earn CKAD certificate today :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks to the community for sharing your experiences which helped me to achieve this. Special Mention to @Alistair Mackay @Trung Tran for clarifying everyone’s queries.
Here are some of my experiences from the whole journey:

  1. Exam environment - Be prepared for the ‘NOT FRIENDLY’ exam environment like 2 sec delay in whatever you type(sometimes), and few moments when we type ‘name’ it goes like nameeeeeeeeeeeee, and next one was i didn’t know how to get search in firefox or got nervous couldn’t find search. In killer.sh Ctrl+F works, may be i overlooked it on Instructions for Exam Guidelines. Please be prepared with all those simple hacks because I got nervous and spent 25 min initially for just 2 questions. Then i calmed myself and attended rest of the questions.
  2. Time Management - DO NOT spend more time on single question as i spent more time in first couple of questions and kind of got nervous when i was working on next set of questions.
  3. Study Material - I completed Udemy/Kodekloud Mumshad’s Course and referred documentation in K8s official page.
  4. Practice Material - Kodekloud exercises, K8s Challenges, Ultimate CKAD exams, Killer.sh(Imp), http://Killercoda.com|Killercoda.com and at last General imperative practice scenarios posted by many community members
  5. Time for preparation - I have zero working knowledge in k8s though i worked few months on Openshift. Hence took 2 months for completing the course material in udemy and Practice for 1.5 months repeatedly. Exam questions needs more understanding of concepts.
    Thank you all !!

Srinivas:
Congratulations

Alistair Mackay:
Great stuff. Well done!

Hi Priyadharshini, thanks for your feedback ! I had a similar awful experience, 2 days ago, with the exam environment, also having the “nameeeeeee” issue. It was happening almost every minute, sometimes with an entire clipboard content. Also I encountered a “whitescreen of death” displayed in the whole area (instructions + remote desktop). I had to reboot my computer and to redo the check-in again. I was really upset, had the technical support twice, and finally I couldn’t make it. I lost 25 minutes in the timing only with these technical issues (among others, also the chat is really laggy). I rage quited and directly filed an issue to the LF support, asking how to deal with these bugs (issue with my workstation ? Bugged interface ?) and requiring a new attempt considering the conditions for this one.

After reading your feedback, I think maybe I should have kept going though. But I lost my nerve, and in the end I am highly disappointed, as I think I was super prepared and could achieve so many tests with great results.

I don’t understand how LF can legitimately charge a certification with so awful conditions offered during the exam. Killer.sh in comparison has a very decent interface.

Priyadharshini:
I know it wasn’t a good experience for me either and it will be very disappointing when someone appears with a good confidence.

Bashar Kadi:
Congratulations! what was the solution for the Ctrl+F issue? thank you!

Priyadharshini:
I haven’t checked it yet, not sure if I didn’t check any documentation yet

Alistair Mackay:
Nice one @Priyadharshini!!

Alistair Mackay:
@Bashar Kadi please check https://github.com/fireflycons/tips-for-CKA-CKAD-CKS#issues-with-the-exam-portal for CTRL+F. Once the find box is open, it should stay open.

Bashar Kadi:
@Alistair Mackay thank you very much!
