As you can see, the display of the terminal UI show the templates a little bit fuzzy, but the rendering of all the other parts of the kodekloud webpage just works very well, including the display task to accomplish in each part of the lab.
Some weeks ago this issue didn’t exist, is very recently like a week or two at most. I installed many fonts in my computer just in case, like noto-fonts and others, and the problem keeps going. I don’t know what’s making this issue. I don’t believe that with installing nerd fonts will work again.
So if anyone can help me to find a fix with this, I will be more than glad.
What kind of computer are you using? There’s an issue on MacOS when using an external monitor. If you aren’t using MacOS, I’m not sure what would cause this.
The Mac issue is a system bug related to font rendering. I’m not sure how font rendering works in various Linux desktops, but you might try searching the web for issues relating to your particular distribution. But I doubt the problem on Mac would be that relevant to solving your problem on your Linux desktop, unfortunately.
Thanks @rob_kodekloud for the answer. I will search in the web font rendering issues for Linux and try another browser.
The issue just happend just a week or two at most ago. Do you know if the front end team make some significant changes to the terminal UI ? I’m asking because I was using the KK page withou problems.
Have you seen our support page on Lab related issues? There’s a fair bit on font display issues. I’m not sure you’ll find a solution there, but it’s worth eliminating some of the issues you see. If you can use your browser dev tools on the page and look in a networking tab, it’s also possible we’ll see something that the javascript of our terminal widget is getting annoyed with. This may help point to a solution to your problem.
I have terminal font issues in Brave, which I recently adopted. I don’t have issues in Firefox. I’m on KDE Neon (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS base), and I tried both the official deb install of Brave and the Flatpak on FlatHub. The fonts are less distorted with the flatpak version, but it’s still unworkable.
Same problem in Brave under Windows 10. The second item in the troubleshooting labs page mentions extensions like ad and JavaScript blockers as a culprit for font issues. I confirm it is the case for Brave.
I disabled Brave Shields for kodekloud.com (from the Brave Shields icon in the search bar), and that fixed the font problem.
I’m been bussy this month, so today I checked this. Hope if you still have the issue this could help: I manage to solve my issue, but was because I was testing an Alpine Linux setup to see if I could use it for development and many other thinks ( Just for curiosity). I switch my distro for many thinks. But I manage to solve the issue by installing the browser by the native way ( Not using flatpak or snap) and installing the nerd–fonts fonts, and also I think the noto-fonts. After that everything works well. Hope this could help you in troubleshooting you issue, maybe you can let flatpak use this fonts from the system, but i’m not sure if that’s possible. Also I’m not using ubuntu.
PD: Some browsers set the use of system-fonts disable. Check that also.
