Hello everyone,
I am interested in the KodeKloud PyTorch course, and I would like to start running AI jobs locally on my own hardware. NVIDIA GPUs are way too expensive. =( Can I follow along the course with an AMD Radeon GPU instead? I wonder how much “friction” I will run into. I plan on running it on an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Desktop machine.
Thanks for any relevant advice!
A quick web search suggests you should be fine – I think AMD Radeon supports CUDA versions that will run Pytorch w/o much trouble. Please make us aware of any issues you find, but you should be able to follow the course.
Thanks for the quick response.
Sorry, I need to rephrase my question. I was wondering if the PyTorch course assumed that the student had an NVIDIA GPU or not. For example, maybe there are parts in the course that want you to use scripts (or anything else) that assume CUDA (NVIDIA), instead of ROCm (AMD).
Thanks again.
