Yesterday I went for my first attempt to the Killer Shell CKA Simulator.
I found a few things which didn’t seem to be covered in your CKA Certification Course:
Configure Liveness, Readiness and Startup Probes
StatefulSets
Metrics-server
Also the clusters are configured on 1.28
Are you planning on adding content shortly for that? Do you know if the CKA exam contains these topics?
The killer.sh exam is harder than both our mock exams and the real exam itself, and occasionally does touch things that aren’t in the curriculum, which sets what’s on the exam; the source for this is the curriculum for CKA. From this, here’s the status of these topics:
Configure Liveness, Readiness and Startup Probes
Not in the curriculum (it’s a CKAD topic)
StatefulSets
Not in the curriculum (an optional CKAD topic)
Metrics-server
Covered in curriculum under the topic “Logging and Monitoring”
Covered in our CKA course, in Section 4.
So you should be covered for the exam. It never hurts to study topics that you find in the killer.sh simulator, but I would not expect to see (1) and (2) on the exam.
My bad about the Metric Server, you are absolutely right.
Also thanks for clarifying the other two aspects, I got into the simulator and, a part from the general shock in seeing my time literally flying away with rather difficult scenarios, I was also taken aback from those particular topics which I’m now rather surprised seeing in the CKA simulator.
The killer.sh team I think sees the the simulator as part exam prep and part teaching tool. And yes, it’s harder than the actual exam. I see it as an opportunity to study the topics in more depth, and get extra practice.
