For some reason when cutting and pasting within the labs (say withing a vim session, the pasted data is not what I copied at all. Seems like it gets scaped from a collective buffer (data not of any of my sessions) and is totally unrelated to what was copied. I checked all the normal suspects (term enu etc). Perhaps this is a unrelated known issue within the Katakoda environment/platfiorm. If there is a workaround, please feel free to share.
