Course for Kubernetes and Cloud Native Security Associate (KCSA)

Hi KodeKloud Team,

I’ve seen a post on LinkedIn about the K8S Security Path as attached and was trying to find a course for KCSA but didn’t see it on the menu

I see the course for KCNA course though appearing. Wanted to understand is there any plan to do and if so, when can we expect that course so that the learning path is completely available as per the image

Thanks

The KCSA has not yet been released by Linux Foundation: Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) Exam | Linux Foundation

There’s also an issue with that K8S security path. It is missing CKA as the third item which is a prerequisite to appearing for CKS

It is entirely possible to just do CKA then CKS (which is what I did originally). The other two certs are just fluff that you’ll pay extra to take the exams  although having said that KCNA course will give you some basics of how Cloud works if you don’t already know.

To pass CKS you also require a good knowledge of Linux basics. None of the above teach that, so if you are not comfortable using Linux, do a Linux basics course first.

Alistair, Thanks for your response and that’s exactly was my understanding too that CKA is needed before taking up the CKS thingy  but as I saw that path was wondering is it a parallel path towards CKS

I’m not into gaining Certs but thought of going through that course to fill the gaps in my concepts if any. But looks like better to go through CKS content as I’d done the CKA content while ago :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers and Appreciate your time for the insights!

it seems available now.

Any plan for a prep course?

I believe there is one being worked on. I am not sure when it will be released.

CKA is still a requirement to seat for CKS. See here

I was talking about KCSA,
I see no prerequisites here
Kubernetes Cloud Native Security Associate (KCSA) Exam | Linux Foundation

There are no prerequisites for that. The only exam that has prerequisite out of all 5 kubernetes related exams is CKS.

Hadn’t immediately spotted you have posed on a 5 month old thread and was also replying to message above yours.

Hi Team, are there any plan to release KCSA study course as the exam was launched by CNCF? Though its beginner level course, i am willing to complete this certification as i have already completed KCNA, CKA, CKAD, CKS.

I am also interested in the course. Have done CKAD and think KCSA would be great compliment. Enterprise flavors of K8s have multiple security tooling built in, but always good to have the background knowledge

Hi, Team, any plans for KCSA course?

AFAIK one is being created. I don’t know when it will be ready.

Hi,

Do you have any update on the KCSA course request?.

Nope. We’re still working on it, no news yet.

hi can the kodekloud team provide us with the release date of the kcsa course? this would be especially useful for us to plan our study timelines with regard to kubestronaut certification.

If you have already passed CKS and KCNA, there is really not much in KCSA that you wouldn’t already know. I appeared for that and passed it without doing a course - I just bought an exam question bank on Udemy to see what the questions would be like.
