Configure protected directories in Apache

In the given task, Directory name is misspelled so kindly improve it. I noticed so i disguised.

can you tell me what have you done with htpasswd?
you have to save your protected user name and given password in file on app3.
format ------>>>>>in app3 server
htpasswd -c /etc/httpd/.htpasswd

I created in home folder .Thanks for response.

there is no issue. I just used to create in given folder. You can create in any folder but sometimes we faced permission issues.
Have you setup correctly in .htaccess ? can you write the process? what have you done,if remember?
