Configure Jenkins User Access

Hello, I’m unable to find the Configure Global Security option in Jenkins, When I’m trying to do the task In Jenkins," L-1 - task 3 - Configure Jenkins User Access". Because of which I couldn’t complete the below items as part of the task and failing to complete the task. Could some please help on this ASAP…

  1. Utilize the Project-based Matrix Authorization Strategy to assign overall read permission to the mariyam user.

  2. Remove all permissions for Anonymous users (if any) ensuring that the admin user retains overall Administer permissions.

  3. For the existing job, grant mariyam user only read permissions, disregarding other permissions such as Agent, SCM etc.

@kodekloud Team Can someone please check and help on this?

Hi Sabari,

I just checked, and it’s working properly on my end. Can you clarify what you mean by Configure Global Security? After installing the plugin, I went to Settings → Security and configured the Project-based Matrix Authorization Strategy there.

Hello @raymond.baoly , Could you please mention the screenshot ,where you are getting the Project-based Matrix Authorization Strategy option under security. As I don’t see the option under security. That so I’ve mentioned the same in my clarification as well.

Hi @Sabari,

If you are not seeing this option, you probably need to install the plugin.

Thanks a lot @Tej-Singh-Rana, I’m able to install the plugin. As I got beginner level idea on Jenkins, I’m unaware of this :stuck_out_tongue:

Though I’ve given the correct access to the mentioned user. The task got failed ( - user ‘anita’ should only have overall read only permissions). any help on this would be highly appreciated.

That’s odd. Let me check the task.

I found some issues with this task. Now, I am checking with the KKE team. I’ll be sure to update you as soon as everything is sorted out.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hope I’m getting the solution in the same way…

Hi @Sabari,

They have reviewed it, and the issue is occurring because we are not providing ‘read’ permission for the job. Please check the attached screenshot.

Please give it another try and share the feedback.
