Stefan Franziskus:
Cleared CKA with 92% - thanks @Mumshad Mannambeth for his awesome lecture.
Here my experience/tips:
I performed the exam on a 27’’ iMac. The button to start PSI bridge was not clickable at first. Minimize the browser or switch tabs, then it is clickable. Installation of PSI bridge failed on first attempt. Keep calm, the second try worked. Check, that installation destination is set to ‘only for me’
Remote desktop in PSI bridge did not connect automatically and showed an error. Clicked to connect it worked.
Hide or minimize the dock (taskbar on Windows), you will need every fraction of inch. Sadly the PSI browser cannot be maximized to the full screen size.
If you don’t see the search field in Firefox at the bottom, then parts of Firefox Window may be outside the viewport of the remote desktop. Try to move/resize the Firefox window.
Remote desktop user experience was fair. I had no latencies in the terminal windows. Scrolling with the mouse in Firefox was hardly usable. So here my Firefox strategy:
Don’t scroll with the mouse. Use PgDown/PgUp or space bar to scroll a whole page. Use the arrow-keys to scroll smaller steps. Search for the word ‘apiVersion’ to jump to manifests directly. Train this in your daily work and you’ll get faster than using a mouse.
Last: Find a vi/vim cheat sheet and learn using the shortcuts.
