Hi,
I am preparing for CKA exam for which I am referring CKA course. I see that last topic of Networking section is on Ingress ( 21 mins long plus 2 practise tests). When I refer official Ingress doc, it says that it is frozen and thus we need to refer “Gateway API”.
I wish to know:
- Is Ingress still relevant for CKA exam ? Or should I be studying Gateway API ?
- When can we see Gateway API related videos in CKA course ?
The Ingress API may not be getting new features, but it’s mature and well supported. It’s a part of all 3 of the major practical certifications (CKA, CKAD and CKS) so I’d expect that it will continue to tested for years. In contrast, most implementations of Gateway API are at best in beta, and many are in alpha or even “experimental”. So while the Gateway API is the future, so are flying cars and household nuclear fusion reactors No schedule as to when they might be in the exam. I’ll ask about whether we have plans yet to add Gateway API to the course, but my sense is it may be a while.
Ok @rob_kodekloud. Thanks for quick response. Sure, you ask and update here, whatever plans you hear about Gateway API. The documentation of Gateway API appears to be complicated to understand, thus video from trainer Mumshad would be a great starting point.
