I am reaching out regarding an issue I am facing with Azure DevOps organization configuration in KodeKloud Labs.
Previously, I was able to create an Azure DevOps organization using KodeKloud Labs and successfully practice without any issues. However, I am now encountering the following subscription-related error:
“You must be an Owner or Contributor of the Azure subscription to use it for billing. Please choose a different subscription or request the appropriate role.”
Because of this error, I am unable to proceed with creating or using the Azure DevOps organization for practice.
I would like to mention that I have an active KodeKloud PRO subscription. Could you please help me resolve this issue at the earliest so I can continue my learning and lab practice?
I’m a little skeptical “it used to work this way”, since the way the labs work, they need to belong to “our” organization in the Azure system, and that’s always been the case for Azure. When using the labs you need to use our subscription, and since the labs are limited in what they allow, creating a new subscription is not allowed.
@rob_kodekloud , The issue remains unresolved despite multiple attempts and is preventing me from continuing my lab practice.
Please assist in resolving this subscription issue and let me know if there have been any recent changes to the lab setup or subscription limitations, or if further action is required from my side.
Looks like 30 task of “100 days of Cloud (Azure)” was replaced and I was able to complete tasks till 42.
But in 42 task - “Day 42: Deploying a Web Application from Repository on Azure”
we also need to create organization and repo in Organization which also leds to the same permission errors.
I am still facing issues with my Azure DevOps subscription. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, the problem remains unresolved and is currently preventing me from continuing my lab practice.
I kindly request your assistance in resolving this subscription issue. Please let me know if there have been any recent changes to the lab setup, subscription limitations, or access policies. If any further action is required from my side, I would be happy to proceed accordingly.
I understand that your team may not have direct expertise in resolving playground or lab-related technical issues. However, I would like to highlight that this Azure DevOps subscription issue has been reported earlier (since December 2025) and is still unresolved, and I am currently blocked from continuing my lab practice.
While I am aware of the community forum support, I request your assistance in escalating this issue to the appropriate technical team internally or confirming whether there are any known issues or limitations with the Azure DevOps playground environment.
At this stage, repeatedly redirecting the issue without a clear resolution path or ETA is impacting my learning progress. Kindly let me know:
If the issue has already been raised with the technical team
A clear ETA for resolution
Or if any action is required from my side
I would appreciate your support in ensuring this issue is tracked and resolved at the earliest.
