Are M1 Macs still not supported? It’s mentioned in the community FAQ https://github.com/kodekloudhub/community-faq#how-do-i-remove-the-nag-dialog-when-pasting-into-the-terminal-application|here

Alistair Mackay:
That’s right. Follow the link to PSI Bridge system requirements right below that message to see what is supported.

Ahmed ElGamil:
Thanks @Alistair Mackay, I checked the PSI page https://helpdesk.psionline.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4409608794260--PSI-Bridge-FAQ-System-Requirements and it mentioned nothing about M1 Macs, hence why I thought I’d confirm here

Alistair Mackay:
Do any of the mentioned MacOS versions run on M1?

For extra clarity, raise a ticket at https://trainingsupport.linuxfoundation.org/ asking them if and when M1 will be supported. Given that M1 is not x86 architecture, they will need to create an M1 specific version of the software.

Any update from that. please ping me directly and I’ll update the FAQ.

Ahmed ElGamil:
Yes, I run MacOS 12 (Monterey) on an M1 Mac Mini. I’ll definitely open a support ticket right away since my exam is tonight. Thank you, I’ll keep you updated.

Alistair Mackay:
If you don’t get an answer in time, try to launch anyway. If it fails because of M1 (i.e. the software won’t install or run), then raise another ticket, and point out that the PSI bridge requirements did not state M1 compatibiliy, which should result in them crediting you back the exam - which you can then take on a compatible device.

If it does work, then let me know

Ahmed ElGamil:
Also worth mentioning that the system check passes fine https://syscheck.bridge.psiexams.com/

denis.dsouza:
I am planning to answer on 16" M1 Mac
adding my self to this thread

Aaron Smith:
YMMV but I took the CKS on an M1 mac

Aaron Smith:
I had issues but they were definitely related to network performance

Aaron Smith:
The actual PSI bridge app worked as intended (even if it is not very well made)

Aaron Smith:
My laptop also passed the system check

Aaron Smith:
(my only other option was to use a 14 inch Ubuntu 22.04 laptop – also “unsupported” but also even less screen real estate for the test environment)

Ahmed ElGamil:
That’s reassuring @Aaron Smith, thank you so much for confirming

Alistair Mackay:
@Aaron Smith You took the exam on M1 Mac after 2022-06-25? This is when the exam delivery changed to the XFCE desktop VDI served within PSI Secure software.

Aaron Smith:
yup, I took it and passed last Friday on an M1 Mac

Aaron Smith:
M1 Pro to be specific

Alistair Mackay:
Shouldn’t matter :slightly_smiling_face: It’s the fact that it’s ARM, not x86
