1 month to register for the exam

Hi,

I purchased the CKA(D) exams a couple of weeks ago, then I noticed that Preparing for the Kubernetes Certifications - CKA & CKAD mentions that:

  • “Once you receive the link you have 1 month to register for the exam.”

Can one explain what the above exactly means?

The email I received from my purchase is that I have a year to take the exam.
When I click on the “Start exam” in my training portal I see this:

To my eyes I should only schedule the exam when I feel ready but before Nov 26th 2024. And, no further action I should take to register for the exam. Am I wrong? I have a difficulty understanding the above statement.

Would you be so kind to enlighten me?

Nikos

I think it’s possible that the original link in the email you receive may only be good for 30 days, but in any case, you can log into your account to set the exam date as long as it is before that date in November 2024.

Thanks Rob for the input. Since I see both exams listed under my Linux Foundation account, my impression is that I can ignore the email for now.

Scheduling an exam when I am not even halfway with my studying feels odd to me, but I’ll do it I guess since re-scheduling it is possible from what I am reading at Linux Foundation site.

No reason to schedule the exam before you have a good idea you’ll be ready. You can schedule when it’s convenient for you, as long as it’s before your tickets expire in 11 months or so.
