Issues provisioning and starting labs

I have been using the Kodekloud labs for about a month now. Everything has been working perfectly.

This morning (Fri 18.07.2025) everything has been slow and unstable. Currently I am trying to run the practice tests from the Udemy Kubernetes course.

  • Often the provisioning fails after about 7 minutes showing the egg-timer.
  • Sometimes the provisioning seems to work, but then the lab just shows a blank screen. No instructions or terminal pane.
  • Sometimes the lab is provisioned and starts up correctly but then when I want to check a solution it fails and asks me to refresh.

I am using Google Chrome.

It seems to be getting slower and more unstable over time. Is the system under more load than usual this morning? Is there a known issue with the platform this morning? Was there an update that is causing problems?

I will try again later, but just in case you are not already aware, this is just a heads-up to let you know that I am having trouble.

Thanks Santosh. I just tried again and it seems to be better now.

Hm, I take it back. It provisioned the lab and brought up the left and right panels, but the terminal is hung, not showing a command prompt.

It eventually brought up a command prompt and from that moment it worked as usual. The ‘check’ buttons on the left were very slow.

Now we are back to this state:

No error, but also no left and right panes.

I am seeing the same issue again. Everything is very slow and now it failed at the provisioning stage.

I just tried with CKA Mock 1, and it loaded fine at my end.
Can you please try again?

It was one of the Udemy CKAD Kubernetes Security labs - RBAC or Cluster Roles I think.

I’m now doing the Helm Concepts lab and it was very slow to start up and extremely slow to check my answers again.
