AWS Developer LoadBalancer Lab : Problem with Certificate (from ACM)

Hi Rob and co,
I’m doing the " AWS Certified Developer - Associate" course and am stuck on the ALB Load balancer lab.
The main problem being, I’m asked to provide a Certificate from ACM and when I click on "Request new ACM Certificate, I get a security error stating I’m not allowed to perform this action, thus I can’t complete the Lab to see the ALB in action.
Could the Lab be updated to include such certificate?

In the solution it doesn’t mention this step at all. Is the lab out of date?
How do I bypass this error?

Thanks in advance

Hi @elvy

Please share the lab link, I’ll check it and get back.

Hi Raymond,

The course is:

AWS Certified Developer - Associate

The section is:

Load Balancing & AutoScaling

The Lab is:

Load Balancer Lab

Here is the link for the lab:

Thanks in advance

Thanks @elvy

I see the issue. I’ll forward it to the team and keep you updated.

Thanks Raymond,

Also many of the AWS services are not available on the AWS playgrounds.
I keep running into security errors stating I don’t have the privileges to create
such resources. So to get the practice, I’m contemplating using my own AWS
account but that would mean I’m paying extra premiums for nothing.

I’m on the pro plan and at the moment
it doesn’t feel like I’m getting enough value for money.

Regards

Elvy

Hi Elvy,

Please refer to the Playground mini-FAQ. I hope the explanation there helps resolve your issue:

Playground mini-FAQ – Cloud IAM

Hi Raymond,
That’s useful to know but the restrictions are strange as much of the aws lectures for example on DynamoDB I can’t practice as I don’t have the permissions to create such resources. Yet these resources are being taught.
So how am I suppose to practice?
